Advancement of LUT in the Perspektywy Ranking

Lublin University of Technology has again been included by the "Perspektywy" Education Foundation  among the leading universities distinguished by innovation. In the 22nd ranking of universities that has just been published, LUT ranks second. The leader in this category - West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin – was ahead of only 1.3 points in the ranking index. In comparison with the third university in the ranking – Lodz University of Technology – Lublin University of Technology was ahead of 13.5 points.

- Once again, we maintained the first place in the category of patents and protection rights and in terms of innovation, we are only a hair behind West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin. Effective transfer of the best solutions to the market is one of the most important tasks of our university. Such are the expectations of the socio-economic environment and the scientists themselves. That is why it is so important to create appropriate hardware, organizational and financial facilities so that the employees are interested in commercialization and want to benefit from patent protection. I think it is like that at our university - says Prof. Dariusz Czerwiński, vice-rector for general affairs and development of Lublin University of Technology.

Among academic universities, Lublin University of Technology ranked 27th. This is 4 places higher compared to the results of the last year's edition, and in the category of technical universities, our university took the high 8th position – the same one as a year ago.

The "Perspektywy" ranking presents the best universities in Poland. The list includes 29 indicators grouped into 7 criteria: prestige, graduates on the labor market, scientific potential, scientific effectiveness, didactic potential, innovation and internationalization.

- Our ranking is aimed at high school graduates, helping them to choose the best field of study and the best university. It is also needed by the Polish academic community, for which it is a kind of "mirror". It shows successes, but also shortcomings that need to be corrected - says Waldemar Siwiński, the president of the “Perspektywy” Education Foundation, the initiator of the ranking.
